Booten vom usbstick

Hallo Listlinge,
ich habe mir in den Kopf gesetzt "damn smal linux" vom USB stick aus zu 
booten. Nach stundenlangen googeln habe ich meinen 64 MB großen USB Stick 
formatiert, bootfähig gemacht und den Laptop Medion 5400 beigebracht daß er 
bei Bedarf vom USB Stick bootet. Weiterhin habe ich von meiner bootfähigen CD 
(welche funktioniert) das Damn small Linux auf den USB Stick kopiert.
Jetzt weiß ich aber nicht mehr weiter, kann jemand helfen?
hier noch der partitionierte Stick:

wo muß ich noch schrauben?
wenn ich das BIOS so einstelle daß der Usbstick bootet, hängt der Rechner sich 
auf, ich denke er erwartet etwas was nicht da ist? Soweit meine dürftigen 
infos und Versuche.
