Was brauche ich zum Temperaturen auslesen?

Hallo zusammen,
bei dem ubuntu (8.04.1 server 32bit) gibt es keine Unterordner 
in /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/.

Folgende Module sind geladen:
lsmod | grep -e acpi -e thermal
pata_acpi               8320  0
libata                160368  4 ata_generic,pata_acpi,sata_via,pata_via
thermal                16796  0
processor              36104  1 thermal

Folgendes installiert:
dpkg --get-selections | grep acpi
acpi                                            install
acpi-support                                    install
acpid                                           install
