Hängenbleiben ist nicht schön und sollte nicht sein. Bei mir
passiert das  nicht. Vielleicht versuchst du mal meine Einträge:

> GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet"

meine: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=""

meine: GRUB_TERMINAL=console

die beiden würde ich mal auskommentieren.
