Ubuntu recommends reporting universe bugs to Debian at the top of the Bugzilla
New Bug Report page. This seems like a problem, as Ubuntu is not Debian - and
the bugs may or may not occur on Debian.
Unsupported packages desperately need at least some form of unofficial support,
and a mechanism for reporting bugs in them needs to be set up. Debian seems to
do this well w/the non-free archive. There are some bugs in popular universe
packages that desperately need to be sorted out, like
1) No sound in Flash on Hoary (this is a big one)
2) Issues configuring k3b
3) Broken mplayer package
