ethernet problem

I am having some eth problems on my powerbook hoary installation ( but
happened with warty aswell )

from /var/log/messages :

Dec  6 12:51:05 localhost kernel: eth0: Pause is enabled (rxfifo: 10240
off: 7168 on: 5632)
Dec  6 12:51:05 localhost kernel: eth0: Link is up at 100 Mbps,
full-duplex.

Now my knowledge about lowlevel ethernet stuff is very limited, but as i
understand it this is the result of recieving a pause frame - But I
thought this should be ignored per default ?
