In an attempt to calify myself:
I *can* open the directory in a terminal, as well as in nautilus by
clicking "Places/Computer" (I'm running hoary); the device "NO NAME" did
appear there. It's only that the attempt to instantly open a nautilus
window for the device fails.
Other weirdness: in the "disks manager" (System/system settings/disks)
the thing is listed in "storage list", and the access path in the
'partitions' tab is set to "/media/NO" (that looks suspicious too).
Third weirdness: when in the nautilus "computer" window i right-click
"NO NAME" and choose "properties", it says: "Contents: 681 items,
totalling 18.6 MB". I deleted files from the device but it doesn't help.
Selecting all elements in the "NO NAME" window (instead of selecting "NO
NAME" in the "computer" window) does give info that makes more sense.
Yes, I am aware there could be hidden files, and I made them visible too.
So, resuming the problems:
1) When mounting, an error appears because nautilus tries to show a
folder that doesnt exist (/media/NO040NAME). Check the disks manager too.
2) The properties window of the device doesn't show the right properties.
I hope this clarifies the problem.
Thanks,
Eric
