Hmm. It would definitely speed the boot, but you could only reasonably do
it if you had one user on the system only - this is similar to how WinXP
behaves:
 if (one user):
         autologin
 else:
         show greeter

this is much harder under unix, given the numerous methods of network
derived authentication.
Worth thinking about, though.
