Quirk - same name for files found on Desktop

Hello, I have two entries for "Evolution Mail" shortcuts on my
desktop. The underlying file names are different (one is
'eek-00391e89e1.desktop', the other is 'evolution-mail.desktop'). The
one was the alias installed with Warty, the other was one I created by
dragging the updated version from the menu entry under "Internet" to
the desktop.

This is something that ought to be avoided since no OS supports having
identical names in one directory, and this same rule ought to apply to
shortcuts/aliases as well -- there's no need to break this
hard-and-fast rule in this case.

(or, is this an upstream GNOME issue)

Eric.
