Lid switch freezes laptop (was: Laptop power management support)

Greetings,

I have the exact same laptop and the exact same problem. I'd appreciate
it if anyone finds a solution for this problem.

Also, for anyone who has this laptop like I do I'm currently looking
for a solution on getting the 3D card (ATI 9600 Mobility 128MB) to
work.

Please post if you've found a solution. I've tried several so far
without success.
