I think that's a great idea, and should be one of the top priorities.
I've been thinking exactly the same thing.

During instalation, one of the questions should be an option to
install this automatically.

The same should be done with the nvdia driver. Someone with zero
command line knowledge or previous linux experience should be able to
install both of these without trouble.

Frankly, anything that we can't include for license reasons, but that
someone from the typical windows world would want/expect to have
compatibility with should be handled this way.

This way, we can stop making excuses for the stuff that isn't in
Ubuntu. (A major turnoff for new users at this point.)

Great idea! Can we pursue this? Please!?
