Hi,
I've only had a quick look at your acpi-support package so it is possible
that I missed some things...
Do you use the software suspend version that comes with the
kernel or do you use software suspend 2 from
http://softwaresuspend.berlios.de/ ?
I didn't see a configuration file in your package, perhaps it would be
useful to have a file in /etc where one could specify which modules to
load/unload and which services to start/stop. Have you looked at the
hibernate script from software suspend 2 ?
Another thing I'd like would be hibernate/standby after a certain time of
inactivity and hibernate/suspend when the battery reaches a certain charge.
SUSE has a nice powersave setup along with a daemon to control everything,
perhaps some of their scripts can be reused:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.2/suse/src/powersave-0.8.19-2.src.rpm

If I find some time over the weekend I'll try your packages and report
back.
