If you have DRI enabled, it might be worth a try disabling it (comment
out Load DRI in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 or xorg.conf as appropriate). ATI
chipset stuff seems to have difficulty in resuming by default at the
moment. Suspend to disk is rather more likely to work by default, so if
you could give that a go, it would be great.
