Thanks for the suggestion.

I also see it as an Ubuntu issue since this is (I suspect) merely a
default setting issue which, though maybe at odds with the technical
Linux users community in general, would fit with the goal of
"usability".

Anyhow, will now see if I can figure out how to submit it into their
bug-tracking system (not really a bug, merely a default configuration
issue).
