gstreamer0.8-mad is in universe. gst-ffmpeg is not in universe because it
has not entered Debian, and we have not actively pursued packaging it (we
couldn't distribute it anyway). There are packages in Debian's NEW queue, if
you're interested in submitting them for inclusion in universe.
