Since I don't have such a device, is it possible for you to do

  cat /proc/asound/cards > proc-cards.txt
  aplay -l 2> aplay-cards.txt

on the computer of your friend and mail me the two files? I'd like to
make sure that Breezy can tell apart audio input from output devices.
