In tab "Sound" -> Default Source -> Input. The options are:

- ALSA
- ESD
- OSS (the default after installation)
- Silence
- Custom

Yes. With gstreamer0.8-ffmpeg, totem-gstreamer understands many more
video formats, but the videos goes slower yet. With totem-xine, the
videos plays with fluidity.
