launchd for Linux

I installed initng on a Hoary install and with very little work
(removing some gentooisms e.g. coldplug, and s/agetty/getty) got it
booting to a console. I'll continue trying to get the full Ubuntu boot
process working, but it will be mainly a learning experience for me
because I know nothing about the Linux boot process. If you want a quick
comparison on how much initng could improve Ubuntu's boot time someone
else with more relevant knowledge should step up.
