Single or Dual head for laptop, Xwrapper ?

Had and idea... what if at boot, you use 'e' to edit the boot command,
and add 'X11Layout=projector1024x768' or some such, and that made the
Xwrapper launch the X server use a '-layout' configuration that
includes a projector screen on the VGA port?

The actual xorg.conf configuration would need to be done by hand,
unless...

It would be even cooler if the wrapper could detect an attached
VGA device, using DDC, and have the X server start with the right
'-layout' option based on that information. I'd like to be able to use
a monitor at home as a second screen, and a projector if I give a
presentation.

I suppose that should not do that unless it is for the primary X server,
since some people want dual seat, not dual head.

Even better, the X server should be able to detect an attached device...
Can that be hot-plugged? If not, then attaching it then running a
command ought to be able to have it open that screen, at run-time, with
DDC determining the capabilities of the projector or monitor. With
that, it would be possible to suspend and resume, and switch between
secondary monitors between.

Since I am too busy with college studies right now to implement that...
I propose that this item be put on the bounty list, or in the queue for
the people who maintain Xwrapper.
