A plugged in USB mouse while booting causes an ugly boot-up message:

The installer does not re-use an existing swap partition if it's a 
primary partition:

The installer allows and sometimes even forces installing on partitions 
smaller than the minimum install size. The installation then errors in 
the middle of the process.
