Moderated dev list?

I am personally distracted by large number of useless posts on
ubuntu-devel list, I have even considered unsubscribing, but I abandoned
this idea because in the flood of useless discussions there are a few
very important.

Maybe the solution would be similar to approach taken by KDE team: there
is -devel list open for everyone, and -core-devel, which is moderated.

BTW. Moderation does not mean that community is not open, just that some
groups must focus on some subject and off-topic discussions are to be
done on lists provided by this purpose.
