Grow up. How exactly does a spin off "muck up" a distro? Does Ubuntu
including non-free kernel modules "muck up" Debian? Does using XFCE in
Xubuntu "muck up" Ubuntu? Kubuntu? If anything, these kinds of targeted
spin-offs are GOOD for Ubuntu: they increase visibility and bring us a niche
market segment.
