Current PowerPC-SMP kernel problem

Info to Ben Collins--
Ben--tried earlier today to boot the 2.6.15-15.21-PowerPC-SMP kernel. 
Almost everything went well after three reboots (first two had various 
Gnome-panel applet problems & locked up the desktop). The third reboot 
"seemed" to work well----with one exception---the time/date changed 
every few seconds from current to the same date/time 65 years ago---in 
1941. I guess that this is a bit of a "time warp"??????
