Firefox and the `you have chosen to open ...' dialogue

It seems kinda crazy to follow these steps:

  1. Enable auto-execution in the web browser.
  2. Audit the MIME database to ensure nothing bad can happen from this.

The time between 1 and 2 are killer. Why aren't they done in reverse?

With that point, I'm not sure where to report the critical bug that
Firefox will automatically open wine (Windows) applications. Is it a
firefox problem, or a wine problem? wine needs to add an executable MIME
mapping otherwise you could never double-click .exe files...
