I'm pretty sure no Knoppix release ever used lzma.

Just I and probably others uploaded a lzma version to try it out and as
said the performance did not suffer that much. (from 94 sec to 102 sec)
At least it was still booting fasther than the ubuntu desktop-cd  :-))
