That's a separate issue, though yes, that is something of a concern.  We
really need the output in order to do this properly.

However, I believe the current dupe checking still relies on the user to
confirm the duplicate, so at least there is room for correction, and in any
case, we want the English error message so that triagers and developers can
easily interpret it.
