I'm worried that it would cause support issues when users would report
bugs against other X packages which in the end might turn out to be due to
the forward ported -intel-2.4. Also, the package would probably
(hopefully:) be removed some time during the Karmic cycle, so an upgrade
path should be provided by making -intel Conflict/Replace the temporary
package (another diff against Debian).
Because of these problems I'd favor keeping it in a PPA, which would
ensure that everyone using it should know what they are doing.
