Hi,

The following thread is a rough transcript of the changes I have made to the 
Ubuntu User Guide. This version is not under revision control since SVN is 
down I have a local working copy that is not under revision control. I do 
believe a branch was made of the revision given to me. When svn is up again, 
I will to svn co and merge my changes into the branch. Patches will be 
created once I have a WC and can patch against the repos. Patches will be 
provided on a per file basis and attached in bugzilla. This log is just to 
give others an indication of what I am doing.

Please that in addition to recording the log comments have been inserted at 
problem points. Feedback is required for further action. Feel free to respond 
inline if you can answer a comment or have an idea.

that the title does not match the body. If this is about a background to 
Ubuntu then let's make it a background. I think the introduction part should 
be moved to a new section, need to think where to put it in the document
