Quick Guide - Proposal

Hi,

I noticed that many of the files in parts/ have the same content as those in
quickguide/

diff on the directories shows shows the following item differences
Only in parts/: about
Only in parts/: commontasks
Only in quickguide/: IconUbuntu.png
Only in parts/: installing
Only in parts/: moreinfo
Only in parts/: old
Only in quickguide/: parts
Only in parts/: peripherals
Only in quickguide/: quickguide.xml
Only in parts/: software
Only in parts/: systemconfig

Inspection of the content shows small differences between the content of these
books. Seeing as there is so little difference, I can see no point in
maintaining two sets of files.

I propose:
1. Merging differences into the User Guide.
2. Make use of XPointer to create a Quick Guide or use Docbook profiles to
transform two books from the same sources.

Advantage:
1. Single-source
2. Less maintenance
3. Easier for translation teams

If the team agrees I will proceed.
