My view on backports: we can support them, as for breezy the backports 
repository _should_ be official and on an Ubuntu server. Equally any legal 
problems should be resolved if the backports are to become official. However 
at the same time I believe that it is important to give users the ability to 
choose whether to activate backports or not: there is an information gap 
that we can fill by explaining properly in our guides what the activation of 
backports entails, and what the pros and cons are.
