Summary: Gnome documentation for menus out of date
           Product: Documentation
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: User Guide
        AssignedTo: debzilla at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: bugzilla at docbill.emailuser.net
         QAContact: ubuntu-doc at lists.ubuntu.com

When it comes to adding, deleting, and modifing menu items the GNOME help is
badly out of date. Most of the special urls, such as applictions:/// are not
valid with the newer versions of GNOME. In fact, it turns out the current
versions of GNOME have no GUI way to modify the menu. Instead users need to
edit XML files manually. This creates hours of flustration, until the user
realizes the GUI options just don't exist and finds the correct instructions on
the web. The correct instructions are not very easy to find on the web either.
