Linking topics

I'm working on partioningandbooting.xml and I have a question. How is
topic linking done? I see how intra topic linking is done but how
about between topics?

Here is a sample.
<para>Install the <application>gparted</application> package (see
<xref linkend="add-applications"/>).</para>

This appears in yelp like--
1. Install the gparted package (see ).

I've tried specifying the relative path to  "add-applications" but
that doesn't work.

Ideas or links to tutorials appreciated.
