Book idea--further thoughts

Very good points indeed, thanks.  My own publisher for the theory book 
makes everything available to 3d world publishers free of charge for 
exactly that reason. I suspect that these questions would be 
negotiable, since what an English-language publisher's mostly 
interested in is what they can sell in North America & the UK. Then 
there are non-computer publishers who publish copyleft 
texts--Autonomedia, for example, here in the US--though their 
orientation is primarily social/political and they aren't as well 
distributed.
