Hi Dave,
Currently the plans for the next release are still being planned (see
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-doc/2006-October/007251.html).
The plans will probably be pretty much finalised at the Ubuntu
Development Summit in the next couple of weeks sometime. This may result
in a big overhaul of the documentation, so I'm sure another hand will be
appreciated. Have you read through the getting started page

on our toolset and stuff?
