Hi Steve,
No problems really, though having installed the beta and seen the feedback,
I'm surprised there is no mention of the improvements in boot time - one of
the biggest complaints always levelled at the distribution. I haven't seen
much on this anywhere and wondered if it's a product of the new kernel or
that usplash appears not to be working.
As for the line you're unhappy with how about just:
"Ubuntu 7.10 on the desktop features the cutting-edge 3-D Compiz window
manager, fully automated printer
installation, and superior support for Firefox browser plugins."
I think that conveys enough to whet the appetite of those (few) users who
are unaware of Compiz.
Also, how about moving the line "Please download using Bittorrent if
possible." above the list of mirrors, along with an expansion of why
bittorrent is the preffered method?
Cheers,
Dougie Richardson
