Excellent work! I'd recommend this page be moved out of CategoryCleanup,
pending completion of the "Value Examples" column of the "Other
environment variables" table.

I've tried to fill in the "Compilation and software development related
variables" table, but I can't guarantee the correctness of the material
there. I found most of the definitions in the man pages for gcc,
autoconf and automake.
