Ubuntu applications database

Hi Allan,

I might be missing your point - I'm not sure there is really any need to as
the repository packages contain descriptions and are catalogued, providing
information when searched. The problem is as you say duplication of effort,
as well as the possible introduction of errors by introducing such a
proposal.
