Linux newbie and windows deserter wanting to help

Welcome! If you're interested in working on the wiki, a good place to
start might be with a bit of cleanup work [1]. This should get you used
to how the wiki and other tools we use work. Once you feel confident
editing the wiki, it should be easy to move on to writing and
maintaining pages and so on.
