Return vs. Enter

My 0.02 worth:

We are dealing with documentation for end users here and therefore the
only likely time 'entering' or 'returning' anything is mentioned is
during a list of instructions to an end user on how to configure
something. Therefore, despite the origins of the "CR/LF", end users
really don't need to be burdened with knowing that there is some
difference between the two and that whole conversation can be relegated
to some alt* newsgroup where people still care to discuss such minutia.

What is more important, in my opinion, how to reconcile what any given
user's keyboard may have written on the enter key. I have 4 keyboards in
my house and they all have 'enter' written on them but I am in Canada
and use the US keyboard. If I was somewhere else, I don't know what it
would say.

Perhaps this is actually a discussion about localization as is seems
somewhat likely to me that what is printed on the enter key may be
different from region to region.

I wonder if there is some way (perhaps through a graphic) to show which
key the document is referring to when the chosen phrase is used
throughout the instructions?
