Return vs. Enter

To enter a command on the command line.  Which itself is something I
think new users should be led away from wherever possible.  It would
make sense to me in such situations to use "Enter", but then again it
also makes sense for me to press "Return" to force a hard line break and
start entering the next line of text... which is why I ask, in case
there's one preferred over the other regardless, or if it's dependant on
the context.
