I'm a little concerned that this update happened without any
discussion, we recently reworked the WikiGuide page with Allan Day's
draft page, and I was pretty happy with it. Although I'm grateful that
you posted to the mailing list to describe the changes, it would be
good to understand a bit more *why* you made the changes.
With this new version there is quite a lot more for a newcomer to
read, and although that is useful material, it looks a little bit more
daunting to me. If we wish to add links to more pages, I would prefer
to retain the original structure of the page, and simply add an
"Advanced" or "Reference" section which contributors can go to if they
have a particular issue.
The idea of the previous version was to allow users to contribute
without necessarily having to read all of the detailed Moin
documentation, by providing the essential information in the
WikiGuide's subpages.
For those reasons I'd quite like to revert the page to its previous
state and talk about which pages you think might be appropriate for an
"Advanced" or "Reference" section.
On a specific change: you've removed completely a link to
PageCreation: I don't think that's a good idea because that page
contains plenty of information which we added specifically and which I
don't think is included in the Moin documentation.
