I think a lecture in that tone is unnecessary, the freedom argument is just as true for my opinion as it is for yours.

It's a feature. Document it. (:
Long answer:
You might want to rethink your position on this. Since it's a feature
available in Ubuntu and Kubuntu (and the other derivatives as well?)
by default, it deserves to be documented. If anything, documenting it
gives you the opportunity to add warnings as to why this is not
advised.
A Google search for "automatic login ubuntu" gives 2,820,000 hits. A
search for "automatic login kubuntu" gives 93,200 hits. It seems like
this is a Topic Of Interest.
