bungled it up somehow.

I agree with the icon on the desktop (or some other
easily-discoverable place to replay the slideshow)  for a secondary
reason also. If you buy a computer pre-installed with Ubuntu from Dell
or if you get a computer from a friend with it pre-installed, you will
never see the slideshow during the install because you won't see the
install process at all. This would keep the slideshow accessible to
those people who probably will need it even MORE than people with
enough know-how to install in the first place.
