Last time I checked the Ubuntu Manual wiki, there was nothing about
selling the manual. The goal was to include it on the Ubuntu CD for
free in PDF format so the users would print it by themselves.
Besides, I think you do not understand clearly the ideals of FLOSS.
It's not about gratis software, it's about libre software. Free as in
freedom, not as in free beer.
Even Richard Stallman says that it's ok to make money on FLOSS as long
as the code is free (open).
