Hi Jeremy,
It should be doable automatically, and LP needs to support the technique. My
understanding (high level) is that when a source pkg is uploaded, its pot file
is updated automatically. It is then used to update the set of current
translations in Launchpad for the source pkg. Some (probably small) small code
may need to be implemented on LP for this new tool. You might want to contact
the LP team.
