Hi Everybody,

I got behind on this thread.

John, thanks very much.

For "1": No comment.

For "2": No, we already have a serverguide specific "getting started"
page, with the required apt-get command. The one on this page should be
specific to the desktop docs stuff.
The only reason I left some lines with "not sure if needed for desktop
stuff. Needed for serverguide." Is that I was not sure about them yet,
and still am not. (I got busy with something else for several weeks.)

For 3: So could you make the required edit.

A considerable portion of the length is due to the directly "copied"
stuff. Did we reach a consensus about just referencing that material
or keeping the "copied" material? My opinion is that the conversation
died out, rather than reaching consensus.

As for the actual question, do we want to split it up, I have
no comment (don't care either way).

Is this new page not a replacement for, or at least makes
somewhat redundant:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocumentationTeam/SystemDocumentation/Repository

? More on this further below.

Yes, but the history information now seems to be for some other
page. Is there a way to also get the related history information?

Also, and to be consistent with the overall structure of the wiki
pages, shouldn't the page be located at:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocumentationTeam/SystemDocumentation/GettingStarted

?

header"?

Icon or logo: I have no comment (I do not care either way).

The header needs to be the standard documentation team header, that
is standard on every doc team wiki page.

However, I propose the following:

1.) Extract and merge into the new page any remaining useful
    information from:
    https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocumentationTeam/SystemDocumentation/Repository
and retire the page. (Note: some sub-pages in the Repository
    directory are still required.)

2.) Change the "Repository" header link to "Getting Started", pointing
    to the new page.
