Greetings, Documentation Team -
I'm trying to get back to being involved with the Ubuntu project after a
few years away and have just joined the Ubuntu Wiki Editors team. I hope
that I can be of service to the effort.
Anyway, one of the things the getting started guide said was to discuss
your contributions on the docteam mailing list, so I thought I would just
report my first edit at least for the purpose of gathering feedback on the
changes.
This lowhanging page - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Nano - had three
tags on it, Style, Unsupported, and NeedsUpdating. I removed many of the
obviously obsolete references and brought some of the content to be more in
accordance with the WritingGuide, but the bulk of the article still seemed
to be accurate so I left it mostly untouched.
So I wonder:
- Based on these changes, was I right to remove the tags or do you think
additional revision was required?
- Would you have updated the screenshot? And if so, would you use Unity
since that is the current default DE, or would it be good to use GNOME for
the future?
- Do you have any other feedback on this first attempt?
Thanks for your time and consideration, and if anyone else is working on
the wiki actively please let me know what the current major goals are,
otherwise I'll start by trying to fix the tagged pages.
Regards,
Dave Kokandy
