Hey guys,
So Google Summer of Code is starting and the Zeitgeist team will be
mentoring students for both GNOME and KDE. Zeitgeist is a core part of
Ubuntu and thus I encourage people to contribute to it since it is a good
introduction to contributing to the bigger picture of Ubuntu and further to
GNOME and KDE. While the positions for GSoC is limited, it does give the
Zeitgeist team time to actually focus on mentoring and recruiting new
developers, so we don't mind having people now hanging out along with us on
our irc channel #zeitgeist on irc.freenode.net
Contributing to Zeitgeist has many forms:
- Code: Vala, C, C++ or python
- Documentation. Working on fixing the API documentation for developers
- Translation: Translating the applications we have to print out in
arabic
- Bug Management: finding duplicated bugs and marking them
- Community: fix up our website and havea nice time on our channel
Just come along and "DON'T BE FORMAL". The Zeitgeist team hates it when
people are too formal or professional. We like to have a nice time and just
hack stuff.
So I officially invite you to come along and try to dig in. We are enough
people atm that could help out with mentoring.
Cheers
Seif
