Archivos *.ape con k3b

Gracias a todos por la ayuda, pero me encuentro un problema. Al 
finalizar de trabajar el comando ./configure, me da el siguiente error:

checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check 
your installation and add the correct paths!

En el archivo INSTALL he podido leer esto:

    Some packages pay attention to `--enable-FEATURE' options to
`configure', where FEATURE indicates an optional part of the package.
They may also pay attention to `--with-PACKAGE' options, where PACKAGE
is something like `gnu-as' or `x' (for the X Window System).  The
`README' should mention any `--enable-' and `--with-' options that the
package recognizes.

    For packages that use the X Window System, `configure' can usually
find the X include and library files automatically, but if it doesn't,
you can use the `configure' options `--x-includes=DIR' and
`--x-libraries=DIR' to specify their locations.

Lamentablemente no me manejo bien con el inglés, pero creo entender que 
hay que pasarle varias opciones en el comando y tampoco tengo claro cual 
es la ruta exacta de las "X". También me asalta la duda si influirá que 
utilizo gnome y el sistema de ventanas es el Xorg (ubuntu 5.10 breezy)

Supongo que a más de uno le parecerán triviales estas dudas, pero aun 
estoi muy verde en linux en general. Si necesitan más datos, pidan y se 
les dará lo que se sepa.
