[GRUB] No funciona grub-install

Hola, espero que puedan ayudarme.

Tengo Ubuntu Hoary, con Grub, tambien winxp por motivos familiares.

Por razones de la vida me ha tocado hacer una reinstalación de win, ya
todos saben ke ahi muere el MBR, ademas deseo cargar el grub desde el
boot de winxp, como lo hago pues aki estan las instrucciones

Eso me funcionaba, aunque algo sucedio y ahora cuando trato de cargar
el grub desde ahi, me sale el texto y el resto de la pantalla
negra.(no es la consola del grub)

y ya, presiono una tecla y reinicia.

Usando la guia trate de volver a hacerlo, pero no me permite hacer el
grub-install /dev/hda9 que es donde la tengo
 grub-install /dev/hda9
$sudo grub-install /dev/hda9

(fd0)   /dev/fd0
(hd0)   /dev/hda

Y luego sigo la guia, pero aun no funciona.

Luego intentente grub-install /dev/fd0 y lo pongo a bootear desde el
diskete y lo hace muy rápido y bien.

Lo que necesito es instalar el grub en /dev/hda9 que es donde esta montado /boot

Gracias por la ayuda, si necesitan más información acerca del
