error al iniciar

Hola lista arranco ubuntu en recovery mode y me da el siguiente error:
run-init: /sbin/init: Not a directory [429467.131000] kernel panic-not
syncing:
Attempted to kill init.

Esto puede tener solucion o tengo que reinstalar.
